Salam e. v.

Salam e. V. is a migrant organisation in East Leipzig. Its goal is to bring people with and without migration experience together and to build a transcultural meeting place. With various events, its currently 40+ members want to contribute to a more diverse society in Leipzig, Germany, Europe, and the world.

Salam is committed to the peaceful coexistence of people of different cultures, genders, attitudes, different origins, nationalities, and religions. It wants to contribute to the reduction of racism and discrimination against other cultures and promote social tolerance towards all cultures. It further wants to offer help and support to politically, ethnically, or religiously persecuted people as well as refugees and victims of war.

Salam’s work is as diverse as the association itself. Currently, the association offers safer spaces, language workshops, advice on legal and bureaucratic matters, roundtables, gatherings, and various leisure activities. The rapid growth of the association showcases the high demand of further cultural, language, and educational events.
